Aug 8, 2020 · The new lake basin was to be located on the Conrad Ranch. CRMWD made an agreement with the estate to attain 5000 acres. On April 29, 1951, several hundred people from surrounding areas gathered on the land site for the groundbreaking. Lake J.B. Thomas was about to be no longer a dream but a reality.
