SCNR takes in and helps purebred Newfoundlands in need. We cover Indiana, SW OH, and Northern Ky. It is not just shelter dogs or homeless dogs, but dogs from all walks of life. Adoption Policy. A $400.00 donation for adults, or $500 for puppies less than 18 months of age, is requested to help defray the actual expenses incurred by the committee for the care of Newfoundland's surrendered to SCNRescue. We rarely get puppies less than 8 months of age unless they have major medical issues.
The purpose of this Rescue Program is to prevent the suffering of homeless Newfoundland dogs and whenever possible, place them in good homes. SCN Rescue Committee works within the guidelines established by the South Central Newfoundland Club and the Newfoundland Club of America's Rescue Committee.

South Central Newfoundland Rescue, is looking for foster homes! Volunteer foster homes are what makes our rescue program successful. Opening your home to a Newfoundland in need, is a wonderful family activity. It teaches children compassion and responsibility as they see their parents giving of themselves to help a Newfoundland in their own home.
