St Paul's School is a selective independent day school (with limited boarding) for boys aged 13–18, founded in 1509 by John Colet and located on a 43-acre site by the Thames in London. St Paul's was one of nine English public schools investigated by the Clarendon Commission, which subsequently became known as the Clarendon schools.

Saint Paul’s School, one of the major public (i.e., privately endowed) schools in England. It was founded in 1509 by John Colet, dean of St. Paul’s Cathedral in the City of London. Originally located in the cathedral churchyard, the school was destroyed in the Great Fire but rebuilt in 1670.

St Paul’s was founded in 1509, at the height of the Renaissance in England. St Paul’s School was founded by John Colet, Dean of St Paul’s Cathedral. Colet’s father was Sir Henry Colet, twice Lord Mayor of London. As his sole surviving child, John Colet inherited substantial wealth in 1505 to bolster his own independent means.
28th Aug 2022. comment. St Paul’s is one of the world’s most elite and prestigious all-boy public schools and enjoyed, until 2014, an unblemished and gilded reputation. It is predominantly a day school, although boarding facilities are available as an option for a limited number of pupils.
