  2. The first church was built in 1896 and located at Literary Road and West 6th Street. It was the first Orthodox Community in Cleveland and served the needs of the various ethnic Orthodox Christian groups. That same year, the Orthodox Church in Russia canonized Theodosius (Uglitsky) a saint.
