La Staatsgalerie, située à Stuttgart, Bade-Wurtemberg, est un musée et une galerie d’art, qui a ouvert ses portes en 1843. Elle a été fondée en 1838-1843 par le roi Guillaume I er de Wurtemberg. Le musée, pratiquement détruit après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, a été reconstruit en 1946 et rouvert en 1948.

In 1984, the opening of the Neue Staatsgalerie ( New State Gallery) designed by James Stirling transformed the once provincial gallery into one of Europe's leading museums.
King Wilhelm I of Württemberg has the architect Georg Gottlob Barth design a »Museum der Bildenden Künste« – now called the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart –and oversee its construction. It is a two-storey structure with three wings to house the art school, a painting gallery and the department of prints and drawings founded in 1806.
