Stand Up To Cancer Day is a day for creating cancer awareness and supporting the fight against cancer. It is observed every second Friday of September, on September 13 this year. It was created in 2008 by some women who were affected by cancer and has been observed by over 170 countries. The money raised is used for cancer research.
History. Stand Up to Cancer was conceived of in autumn 2007, by a group of women who had been affected by cancer and believe that by merging the recourse of the media and entertainment industries into a single operation they would be able to fight against this disease in a more profound way. [3]
