Jun 25, 2019 · A steady decline in viewers during the first season led to a change of timeslot in season 2. which only saw the ratings drop further. SYFY announced they wouldn't be picking the show up for a third season and it came to an end in 2011. Stargate Universe also ended on a cliffhanger, with the crew's damaged ship needing to jump to a new universe.
The second season of Stargate Universe was announced by Syfy on December 13, 2009. Like the first season, the second season consisted of 20 episodes. Nine episodes had already been reserved by the primary series writers. The series was moved from the franchise's usual time on Friday to Tuesday, along with Caprica.
In going through the Stargate, they are transported not to Earth, but to a very old apparently uninhabited spacecraft. With the group's commander injured, Lt. Scott and the chief scientist - Dr. Nicholas Rush - lead the exploration of the craft. Several areas of the ship have been damaged but it is basically functional.
SGU follows a band of soldiers, scientists & civilians, who must fend for themselves as they are forced through a Stargate when their hidden base comes under attack. The desperate survivors emerge aboard an ancient ship, which is locked on an unknown course & unable to return to Earth.

Stargate Universe is a television series that aired from February 10, 2009 to May 9, 2011 created by Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper. It is the third series in the Stargate franchise and ran for 2 seasons. The Kino webisodes were created as supplement material for the show.
