     Seems that you are in luck too. From the dump section:

     As of 12 March 2010, the latest complete dump of the English-language Wikipedia can be found at http://download.wikimedia.org/enwiki/20100130/ This is the first complete dump of the English-language Wikipedia to have been created since 2008. Please note that more recent dumps (such as the 20100312 dump) are incomplete.

     So the data is only 9 days old :)

     Considering the size of the dump, you would probably be better served using the word frequency in the English language, or to use the MediaWiki API to poll pages at random (or the most consulted pages). There are frameworks to build bots based on this API (in Ruby, C#, ...) that can help you.

     Not all lists are the same from a typing perspective. The program

     def f(some_list: list): return [i+2 for i in some_list]-f(['a', 'b', 'c'])-

     won't fail a static type checker, even though it won't run. By contrast, you can specify the contents of the list using the abstract types from typing

     def f(some_list: List[int]) -> List[int]: return [i+2 for i in some_list]-f(['a', 'b', 'c'])-

     will fail, as it should.

     Indeed there is no such thing as static typing in python. var : int = 1 is an annotation. Something only useful as documentation.

     Even you can assign any type to a typed variable :

     x float = 'I am a float!'-

     Also the the 'types' does not need to be types:

     x: 'hello' # x is a 'hello'

     Annotations reside in the __annotations__ variable. So you can use it as a namespace to hold variables

     x: 3.14print(__annotations__[x]) # -> 3.14-

     Thats not very useful though 😜

     Concerning questions 1 and 2: since C++14 you can omit explicit template <typename ... boilerplate and use auto, but only in lambdas:

     auto let_them_quack = [] (auto & donald, auto & daisy){ donald.quack(); daisy.quack();};

     (yes, I prefer references to pointers). GCC allows to do so in usual functions as an extension.

     For the question 3, what you are talking about are called concepts. They existed in C++ for a long time, but only as a documentational term. Now the Concepts TS is in progress, allowing you to write something like

     template<typename T>concept bool Quackable = requires(T a) { a.quack();};void let_them_quack (Quackable & donald, Quackable & daisy);

     Note that it is not yet C++, only a technical specification in progress. GCC 6.1 already seems to support it, though. Implementations of concepts and constraints using current C++ are possible; you can find one in boost.
