Rogers ’ real first name is Rick, but by the time the series aired, he had changed it to Steve, so as not to be confused with Combat! co-star Rick Jason. An only child, he was born in Chicago on April 18, 1937. His father, Ted Rogers, a salesman, had been the first announcer for KSL and had also announced for KDYL in Salt Lake City.
