STOKER is an underrated little thriller that was obviously intended to be a huge homage to Alfred Hitchcock's SHADOW of a DOUBT, a 1943 film which also featured a similar premise of a teen girl discovering her visiting uncle is secretly a serial killer.
Dick resigns from the company and ends up in a dockside bar, where he is taken on as a stoker in a ship bound for Nicaragua. The scenes in the stokehold were very well done. Passengers on the ship include a wealthy Nicaraguan coffee planter and his beautiful daughter, Margarita (erotically played by Dorothy Burgess).
