Stonewall Resort Camping. Stonewall Resort State Park offers campers a secluded retreat along the hills of Stonewall Jackson Lake. Recreational opportunities include boating, hiking, hiking and more. Open year-round, Briar Point Campground offers lakeside RV and tent campsites.
Stonewall Jackson State Park has been one of my favorite places to visit, especially for a weekend getaway, for a very long time. It was once the best RV or “car camp” camping spot around, but it has become a fairly popular tourist resort and the noise and light from the lodge can be disruptive to those seeking nature’s peaceful separation (hence 4 stars instead of five for camping).

The campground itself is very nice. It’s located in the state park property. Sites are paved with a gravel patio and a nice fire ring with the grill option. For $15/day (for 4 people) you can walk the boardwalk over to the Stonewall Resort and use their pool, hot tub, and take a river cruise.
