Stung Treng is a province of Cambodia in the northeast. It borders the provinces of Ratanakiri to the east, Mondulkiri and Kratié to the south and Kampong Thom and Preah Vihear to the west. Its northern boundary is Cambodia's international border with Laos. The Mekong River bisects the province.
Stung Treng municipality ( Khmer: ក្រុងស្ទឹងត្រែង) is a municipality located in Stung Treng province, in north-east Cambodia. According to the 2019 census of Cambodia, it had a population of 37,103. [1] The provincial capital Stung Treng town is located within the municipality.
Stung Treng Province, a charming province located on a high sandy bank overlooking Mekong River, is about 455 km North of Phnom Penh and 40 km south of the Laos border. The town is link to Banlung (Ratanakiri) and serves more than just a stopover. It is an important trading hub between Cambodia and Laos.
