Styria is a state in the southeast of Austria. With an area of 16,401 km2, Styria is the second largest state of Austria, after Lower Austria . Styria is bordered to the south by Slovenia , and by the Austrian states of Carinthia, Salzburg , Upper Austria , Lower Austria , and Burgenland .
- Graz. A lovely, laidback place to visit, Graz, the capital of Styria, lies alongside the Mur River, surrounded by fields and forests. Unlike many of the other towns in the state, mountains can only be spotted far off in the distance; its main geographical feature is the distinctive tree-clad Schlossberg Hill that lies at its heart.
