   What is super cooling & how does it work?

   • Super cooling is setting your AC thermostat to a very low setting when your utility company’s rates are the lowest. The idea being you basically “freeze” out your home during the hours when the utility rates are at their lowest. Then, during peak rate hours (highest rate), shut off your AC unit and allow the temperature to slowly “drift” up.

   May 9, 2012 · So the cost of R-12 is real expensive, think along the lines of a 12 oz can of R-12 is about $80 last time I checked vs a 12 oz can of R-134a going for $19.99 currently. I've seen many cans of R12 on eBay, they're around $30-40 a can, but that stupid license requirement means I have to have a shop recharge it.
