   • Lynch's first directorial effort since 1983's horrifically laughable Boxing Helena, Surveillance is in every way a Lynch film. It has over played characters and a solemn tone that challenges even the most patient of audiences. Even if the 'twist' was not so evident early in the film, I doubt the subject and plot could have risen above average.

   Absolutely fantastic. It's difficult to review a movie by Jennifer Lynch without comparing it to the work of her father. 'Surveillance' possesses the Lynchian small town banality, stilted dialogue, awkward character dynamics, brutal violence, truly twisted killers, and generally off-kilter weirdness that you'd expect.
