Susanna Hall, William’s Daughter. Susanna Hall (nee Shakespeare) was the elder of Shakespeare’s two daughters. She was baptised on 26th May 1583 at Holy Trinity church in Stratford upon Avon and died on 11th July 1649. She married Dr John Hall in 1607. They had one child, Elizabeth.
Susanna Shakespeare was baptised on 26th May 1583, six months after her parents, William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway, were married. Susanna married John Hall, a physician, at Holy Trinity Church on 5 June 1607. Their only child, Elizabeth, was born on 21 February 1608.
Feb 29, 2020 · Susanna Hall, Shakespeare’s elder daughter, was buried on July 16, 1649, according to the Holy Trinity Church parish register. Next to the entry, an “X” added by a later hand highlights its significance. She had died five days earlier on July 11, aged 66, and was buried in the chancel of the parish church.

William Shakespeare left Susanna Hall most of his property upon his death in 1616, after which she and John left Hall’s Croft to move into New Place, which had been Willian Shakespeare’s home. From New Place, Susanna oversaw the affairs of her mother, Anne Shakespeare. Susanna had a reputation as a business-savvy and intelligent lady.
