Jun 23, 2021 · Suzanne de Passe is an American businesswoman, television, music, film producer, and writer. She began her career with Motown Records in 1968, and after more than 20 years of service in several high-ranking roles at the label, she founded de Passe Entertainment Group, LLC, in 1992.
Ebony Magazine selected de Passe for its highest honor, presenting her with the Madame C. J. Walker Award Whitney M. Young Award; Los Angeles Urban League’s highest accolade. (In keeping with tradition, de Passe presented the award to Magic Johnson.)
Born in Harlem, New York, Suzanne de Passe began her career as the talent coordinator at NYC nightspot the Cheetah Club. Her friendship with Supremes member Cindy Birdsong led to a job as creative assistant to Motown founder Berry Gordy.
