Thorsen won Denmark's Strongest Man in 1983. [1] Using his stature he often plays imposing giants and villains in his films who are somehow beaten by smaller opponents in a David and Goliath manner, but he has also played heroic characters such as Gunnar the legendary warrior in The Viking Sagas.

Apr 8, 2020 · via: Pinterest. A big scene is Maximus fighting legendary former gladiator Tigris of Gaul, played by Danish bodybuilder/stuntman Sven-Ole Thorsen. The original casting, however, was none other than Lou Ferrigno, best known as TV's The Incredible Hulk.
Aug 31, 2018 · The scene from Gladiator, directed by Ridley Scott, where my character Tigris fights Russell Crow who plays Maximus must be the one to mention here, becourse when I arrived in Malta where that scene was shot, I was given a 30 page storyboard with the movements and camera angels of the entire fight. 4 weeks of prep and 3 weeks to shoot the scene.
Sven-Ole Thorsen (born September 24, 1944) is a Danish actor, stuntman, bodybuilder and strongman competitor. He played Tigris of Gaul in Gladiator.
