The mayor of Woollahra is the head of Woollahra Municipal Council, which is a local government area covering part of the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney in the State of New South Wales, Australia.
He was an alderman on Sydney City Council from 1956 until 1965, and Lord Mayor of Sydney from 1957 until 1965. He entered the New South Wales Legislative Assembly at the 1965 state election, as member for Wyong , which he represented until October 1973.
Charles Sydney Smith was born October 4, 1828, in Warren, Rhode Island. [1] At age 12 he moved with a relative to Bureau County, Illinois , which was at that time the far West. [ 1 ] He spent four years there working on a farm. [ 1 ]
