ABOUT US. THE PLACE. Aula Simfonia Jakarta boasts a seating capacity of almost 1,500 seats, including choir and orchestra seats. Located in Kemayoran, a district within Central Jakarta, it is both strategically placed and designed by Stephen Tong.
The Jakarta Symphony. The Jakarta Symphony began in the 1970s by musicians from the orchestra, Orkes Simponi Jakarta. The members were, the late Tony Suwandi, the late Embong Rahardjo, Suka Hardjana, Suwanto Suwandi, the late Sudomo, Nursyiwan Lesmana, the late F.X. Sutopo, Amir Katamsi and friends.
The world renowned San Diego Symphony Music Director, Dr. Jahja Ling, will come to conduct together with Dr. Stephen Tong, who is the Artistic Director on some master works by Bach, Beethoven, Handel, and Haydn. It is our hope that this Aula hall will be a new home to the classical music lovers all over the world. DR.
