Jun 19, 2017 · TTU. History & Traditions. Saddle Tramps. Formed by Tech student Arch Lamb in 1936, this all-male booster organization supports men's athletics at Texas Tech. The name Saddle Tramp came from the stories of traveling men who would come to a farm for a brief time, fix up some things and move on.

SADDLE TRAMPS HISTORY. The Saddle Tramps were organized in the fall of 1936 by Head Cheerleader Arch Lamb. Lamb, who later became a Lubbock County Commissioner, had been out of school for four years before entering Texas Tech in 1934.
Saddle Tramps - TechConnect. Saddle Tramps is an all male spirit/service organization dedicated in 1936 to the betterment of Texas Tech University and the Lubbock community. Celebrating its 85th anniversary, it is well-known as Texas Tech's oldest and most historic student organization.
