The feast of Saint Joseph is an important day for the Sagrada Família for several reasons. Firstly, because it was the Asociación Espiritual de Devotos de San José that initially promoted the idea of building a temple in Barcelona devoted to the Holy Family.
When completed, La Sagrada Família will boast 18 towers in total. Reaching a height of 90 to 120 metres, the 4 towers along each of the 3 façades represent the 12 apostles. Another 4 towers represent the 4 evangelists; these towers will surround the largest tower, 170 metres high, dedicated to Jesus Christ.
Along with six other buildings designed by Gaudí in Barcelona, the Crypt and the Nativity Facade of the Sagrada Família is a Unesco World Heritage Site since 2005, and with nearly 3 million visitors per year it is the most visited monument in Spain, overtaking sites like Granada’s Alhambra and the Prado Museum of Madrid.
The whole name of Sagrada Familia in Catalan is "Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família", literally means Basilica and Expiatory Church of the Holy Family, the name is often shortened as "The Basilica of the Sagrada Família", "La Sagrada Família" or directly "Sagrada Família".

Gaudí realized that he would never see his work completed, and that at his death, the project was likely to be cut off for lack of funding or interest.
