I got a The Ring type vibe. A curse on the person who receives it as a gift. The giver probably thought who to give it to and there might be an element of passing the cursed box onto his least favorite person. I hope the creator does a full length or prequel. Would love to see the origin of the box and how it came into the givers possession.
