There's the Power of the Dark Crystal comics, which are based off the plot of a scrapped sequel movie. The Dark Crystal: AoR exhibits brilliant storytelling and fluid puppetry that results in an impressive piece of television. If you can get past that it’s puppets, I definitely recommend this show. I’ll even go as far to say that this show does fantasy and political drama better than the final couple seasons of Thrones.
I wouldn't mind two different final episodes to end the story on based on multiple futures. One that lead into the movie, and another where things turned out better, but still at great cost and the Heretic and Wanderer live.
