Despite being two kids into their marriage, Mark is a lusty one; we soon see he’s very sex positive, at least as far as his own daily needs are concerned.

The Escape is a very slow movie. I believe this should be the first thing to keep in mind if you are going to watch it. On the other hand, it is an incredibly deep movie with a real focus on characters, feelings and emotions.
On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 76%, based on 46 reviews, and an average rating of 6.45/10. The website's critical consensus reads, " The Escape probes gender mores while surveying the wreckage of a marriage — and offering the underrated Gemma Arterton another opportunity to prove her dramatic mettle."
