Though somewhat lengthy (the run-time comes in at just over 2 hours), it provides a crucial, indispensable argument for an immensely important time: the church, regardless of the dictates of tyrants is essential. To God be the Glory.

  8. Bottom Line: The Essential Church is a frustrating documentary. It incites the passions and is rooted in a valid critique of pandemic lockdown policies but a close reading of the film’s arguments reveals its many half-truths and false analogies.
