More of a comedy, very much like Monk. If you are a fan of Monk, you'll more than likely appreciate The Good Cop. Sometimes you just want to relax and enjoy a simple who done it and likeable characters. Very old school, love that there's no social messages or preachy political views.
The Good Cop is a throwback to vintage detective shows like Murder, She Wrote and Magnum, P.I., where the murders aren't terrible, investigating crimes is a lark, every character boasts a host of endearing quirks, and bad guys have really terrible aim -- shows that are easy to watch and hard to stop.
