The way I see it is that in the final scene, that's our good boy Chris, and the purpose of the whole scene is to demonstrate that although the real danger has passed, the paranoia never will. There will always be a heavy doubt as to the true identity of the closest people in their lives.
It wasn't a not getting to see what was on the camera in the end if the movie...the movie was trying to imply that the mother will constantly remain unsure as to whether she did save the "correct" Chris from that sinkhole.
