The Letters is a 1973 American made-for-television drama film starring John Forsythe, Jane Powell, Dina Merrill, Leslie Nielsen and Barbara Stanwyck. It premiered as the ABC Movie of the Week on March 6, 1973. It was followed by a sequel, Letters from Three Lovers (1973).
Synopsis. This movie begins with a mailman talking about what happens if the mail didn't arrive or if they were delivered much later than when they were intended. That's when he talks about three letters that were delivered a year after they were mailed and how it affected the people who mailed and received them.
The Letters. When a postal airplane crashes, all of its cargo is destroyed. But a year later some letters are found and a postman (Henry Jones) returns them to Elaine (Jane Powell), Penelope...
