When I arrived in Argentina to begin filming Evita, on the drive from Buenos Aires airport, every wall was covered with giant graffiti proclaiming “Fuera Madonna.” They were huge colourful signs with painted letters ten feet high, stretching forty feet across each bridge we drove under.
A book detailing the film's production, The Making of Evita, was written by Parker and released on December 10, 1996 by Collins Publishers. In 2002, Evita became the first and only American film to be screened at the Pyongyang International Film Festival .
