Walt Disney Home Entertainment released The Muppets' Wizard of Oz on VHS and DVD three months after the telefilm initially aired on The Wonderful World of Disney. Both the VHS and DVD included an extended cut of the film; the DVD also included bonus material.

was released on DVD and VHS with an "Extended Film Version" of the movie including footage seen neither in the original ABC broadcast nor at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere. Due to network time restraints, more than 13 minutes of material was trimmed to make the film fit the time slot. The original edit had a total runtime of 87 minutes; the home videos' extended edition carried a runtime of 100 minutes. With the addition of the DVD bonus features, the packaging bosted "20 minutes of never-before seen-footage."
