Nov 15, 2012 · The Painted Skin is the most famous short-story from Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio by Pu Songling, so it was the one I decided to read first. I'm really pleased with this discovery, knowing there are close to five hundred more stories like this in the book.

Production took 10 weeks, filmed on location in the northern desert region of Nongxia, China and the world's largest studio, Heng Dian Studio in the eastern province of Zhejiang, China.
