Douglas Steele Llewelyn (born November 26, 1938) is an American television personality, best known as the original host of the court show The People's Court from 1981 to 1993. Previously a news reporter, Llewelyn has produced numerous television specials, including The Mystery of Al Capone's Vaults in 1986, and launched Judge Judy in 1996.
