The Quack (Polish: Znachor) is a 1982 Polish drama film directed by Jerzy Hoffman. The screenplay was written based on the novel by Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz written in 1937. The first adaptation of the book was filmed the same year the book was written ( Znachor , directed by Michał Waszyński ).

The Quack is a 1982 Polish drama film directed by Jerzy Hoffman. A famous surgeon is beaten by drunken bullies, loses his memory and cannot recollect who he was before. He gets to a village, lives in a not so well to do family and becomes the Quack – he slowly regains his talent for medicine and saves the lives of several village patients.
