The Complete First Season was released on September 24 and September 25, 2001 in the United Kingdom and the United States, respectively. The boxset's color is light silver. The outer front cover depicts the Simpson family, alongside the pets Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II, sitting on the couch. The outer back cover shows Santa's Little Helper flat on the floor. The inner packing depicts the entire family spinning in a vortex. The three discs shows each family spinning around with their reactions in place. The inner back cover shows the family seated on the couch of their aftermath. Inside the outer box features Maggie sitting on top a sleeping Homer. The boxset features the thirteen original episodes from the first season and the boxset is remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1, as the boxset contains two edits on the episodes "Bart the General" and "The Telltale Head". Bonus features are included. The booklet gives information of the episodes from the season.

    Outer Spine: Bart and Lisa

The Complete Second Season was released on August 6, 2002 in the United States. The boxset's color is light aqua. The outer front cover features the Simpsons and the pets having their heads in wrong bodies, referencing a couch gag. The outer back cover shows Snowball II and Santa's Little Helper. The inner packing depicts the Simpsons trading each other's head to their correct bodies, as the discs depicts four other characters from the series with one of the Simpson family members in each artwork, and one the Simpsons' bodies on the disc while switching to the correct member, with the exception of Maggie. The inner back has the Simpsons back in their normal bodies. Inside the outer box features Homer attempting to give Maggie her bottle, as she has a bag of chips in front of her. The boxset features all the episodes from the season and bonus features are included. The booklet's cover shows Snowball II and Santa's Little Helper, whose heads are on the wrong bodies.

    Outer Spine: Homer and Bart

The Complete Third Season was released on August 26, 2003 in the United States. The boxset's color is light purple. The outer packing features the Simpsons' couch tipping over with Snowball II and Santa's Little Helper hiding in the bottom course of the couch, referencing a couch gag from the season. The outer back shows a wall broken through as the Simpsons are aside of it, flat on the floor with the exception of Maggie, which is the same for the outer boxset insiding. The inner packing shows the family fall through the wall, with the dog and cat being revealed. The four discs shows each of the family members breaking through walls. Bonus features are included and edits are seen for some episodes in the season.

    Outer Spine: Homer and Marge

The Complete Fourth Season was released on June 15, 2004. The boxset's color is blue. This boxset is the first to feature any other characters than the Simpsons on the spines, as well as the boxset to feature other characters more than the Simpsons overall the boxset. The outer packing shows the citizens of Springfield invading the Simpsons' couch. The outer back shows Snowball with electrical courses inside his body after chewing on the television's cord, which he is shown doing the same on the front cover. The inner packing has all the characters from the series and minor characters from the season. The inner back shows the Simpsons, worried and somewhat afraid of another invasion coming their way since the citizens has left. The four discs depicts many characters doing several actions. Bonus features are included and the only edit for one episode is "Marge Gets a Job".

    Outer Spine: Homer and Krusty

The Complete Fifth Season was released on December 21, 2004. The boxset's color is red. The outer packing shows the Simpsons in the memorable curtain, circus couch gag. The outer back shows Snowball and Santa's Little Helper, with roses and hats in front of them. The inner packing shows the family in the memorable scenes of the couch gag and the family going through a flaming hoop, which is a circus tradition in real-life. The inner back shows the Simpsons seated on the couch with roses in front of them, with Bart being somewhat in dismay. The four discs shows each family member besides Maggie, who is on Stampy in the middle, dancing with the burlesque dancers. If you remove the discs from the boxset, it shows each Simpson bowing.

Outer Spine: Bart and Principal Skinner

The Complete Sixth Season was released on August 16, 2005 in the United States and North America. The boxset's color is dark gray. This is the first boxset to change the style from the first five boxsets that features the Simpsons in television of events to each of the main focuses of the Simpsons of a cliffhanger from each of the season's episodes and through the 'window', that extends into the inner casing. The booklet is instead incorporated with the boxset's theme after the original booklet theme was discontinued. The overall theme is from "Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part One)". The 'window' is Homer's magnifying glass that shows through a picture of Homer's face, where he has the yellow police tape that reads "The Complete Sixth Season" all over his mouth. More shows pictures of citizens of the suspects of the Burns' case. The four discs depicts each character such as Smithers, Barney, Moe and Homer in the interrogation room, with their shadows indicating their involvement of the shooting. The inner back shows Maggie, locked in a cage, as she was the main suspect of the next part of the "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" duology. Bonus features are included.

Outer Spine: Chief Wiggum and Mr. Burns

The Complete Seventh Season was released on December 13, 2005 in North America, on January 27, 2006 in Ireland, on January 30, 2006 in the UK, and on March 29, 2006 in Australia. It contains all 25 episodes from season seven. The set was released in two different covers: a Marge head to match the Homer head of Season 6, and also a regular-shaped bo...

The Complete Eighth Season was released on August 15th, 2006 in the USA (North America), on September 27th, 2006 in Australia, and on October 2nd, 2006 in the UK. It contains all 25 episodes from Season 8. The set was released in two different versions of the box: a Maggie head-shaped box to match the Homer and Marge shaped heads of the previous two sets, and a standard rectangular shaped box. Like The Compete Seventh Season, both boxset versions are available for sale separately. Both editions share the same theme of the Simpsons' family photo album. The removable back cover has a photo booth reel of Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II.

The DVD menus continue the format used in the fifth, sixth, and seventh season DVDs. The outer front cover has Maggie drawing on a photo of Marge, Lisa, and Bart in the family's photo album while Homer is taking a picture of Marge, Bart, Lisa, Santa's Little Helper, and Snowball II in the background. The window on the package front is inside the top picture of the photo album Maggie's holding, showing her first tooth and her mouth that is on the inner front cover. The outer back cover has Maggie taping Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II onto the album, while the inner back cover has Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II destroying the album.

The spine features Mr. Sparkle from "In Marge We Trust" and Frank Grimes from "Homer's Enemy". This is the first boxset to feature one-time characters on the spine rather than the regulars.

There are two known versions of disc art for this boxset being found in seemingly random versions of the boxset. One version has the Simpson family members holding up the number of fingers pertaining to each disc, while another version simply has the family members posing with a number in the form of a camera lens reflection signifying the disc number.

The Complete Ninth Season was released on December 19, 2006 in the United States and Canada, on January 29, 2007 in the UK, and on March 21, 2007 in Australia. This set was released with two different versions of the box: a limited edition Lisa head-shaped box and a standard rectangular box. The theme of this set is based on the 200th episode ("Trash of the Titans"), a concert, and an edition of "Rocking Stone" magazine.

The outer front cover has Lisa holding up a 200th episode all access backstage pass while Homer, Marge, Bart, and Maggie get checked in at the club in the background, while the outer back cover has Maggie sleeping on Lisa's saxophone with Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II on top of the saxophone case. The removable back cover has the episode names and special features on a concert poster featuring Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II. Inside the outer cover features Otto holding up a sign that says "LISA ROKS!".

The inner front cover has Lisa playing her saxophone, with the "200th Episode" wording on the sax itself, while the inner back cover has Snowball II wearing a hat and a sign that says "PRIVATE PARTY" and Santa's Little Helper wearing a t-shirt and licking spilled wine. The spine returns to feature show regulars (after Season 8's use of one-time characters), with Brandine and Cletus Spuckler.

Once again, the DVD menus continue in the same format used in the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth season DVDs. Also, on each disc, you can hear Lisa playing her saxophone before the menus show up.

A special bonus feature consists of a sneak peak for The Simpsons Movie (was released on Friday, July 27, 2007) that plays after placing disc one into your DVD player. Homer introduces the clip by asking the viewers NOT to tell Fox that the clip is here, and to not complain that it's not in color (He then, in typical Homer fashion, screams, "What happened to the color?!!" as the clip begins).

This boxset comes with six postcards, musically themed, including the three album cover parodies featured on the famous edition of Rolling Stone. One non-Rolling Stone postcard has been identified as a parody of one of Bob Dylan's album covers (Lisa's silhouette). The postcard featuring Bart is a parody of Nirvana's Nevermind. The postcard featuring Homer's butt is a parody of Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA. The family crossing the street on a sidewalk is a parody of The Beatles' Abbey Road album. This box set also features surprise commentators; Jay Leno on "The Last Temptation of Krust", and John Swartzwelder (via phone) on "The Cartridge Family".
