Overall, the Watch is a good, but could have been a way better film. It has a nice, central premise and I liked the sci-fi element of the film. There are some interesting creature designs here, but I wouldn't call them original and I'll leave it to the viewers to see. I rate this film 7/10.
The film was also met with generally negative reviews, with critics focusing on the plotting, frequent "vulgar and offensive" jokes and numerous product placements. However, Hill and Ayoade's performances were more positively received.

Bottom Line: The Watch is one of those pictures in which it seems that everyone in front and behind the camera had a different idea of what the picture was supposed to be and each of them works against everyone else. The inevitable result: no one succeeds and the film is a disaster. Episode: #399 (August 5, 2012)
