(1)Thomas Holland, 2nd Earl of Kent. Thomas Holland was born in Upholland, Lancashire, in 1350 or 1354. On 28 December 1360, he became Baron Holand. In 1366, at the age of sixteen, Thomas was appointed captain of the English forces in Aquitaine.
THOMAS HOLLAND, second Earl of Kent of the Holland family (1350-1397), born in 1350, was son of Thomas Holland, first earl of Kent, by Joan, daughter of Edmund of Woodstock. He succeeded to the barony of Holland in 1360, on the death of his father, and in 1366 was made captain of the English forces in Aquitaine.
