Sep 26, 2020 · Like many film festivals in 2020, the world’s largest LGBTQ+ film exhibition event, Frameline, went digital for its forty-fourth year. The festival’s centerpiece Through the Glass Darkly, the narrative feature debut of lesbian filmmaker Lauren Fash, had its world premiere through at the festival this past Saturday.
Through a Glass Darkly stands out to me as not only the masterpiece of this era, but of Bergman's entire career. This film has such a distinct atmosphere, which conveys not only isolation and melancholy, but also dark, austere beauty. Every little piece of this film fits together like a glorious completed puzzle.

Dec 7, 2021 · If you watch through to the end, it is Clearly shown why the main character (wonderfully acted by Robyn Lively) who narrates the story seems to jump around in time & space as she tells the story. This is not a movie for 15-18 year old kids who want a fast paced super hero show. This style used to be called "Southern Gothic" but it is so much more.

There were 13 other movies released on the same date, including Dear Evan Hansen, My Little Pony: A New Generation and Time is Up. As a Limited release, Through the Glass Darkly will only be shown in select movie theaters across major markets.
