Nathalie Kay " Tippi " Hedren (born January 19, 1930) is an American retired actress. Initially a fashion model, appearing on the front covers of Life and Glamour magazines (among others), Hedren became an actress after she was discovered by director Alfred Hitchcock while appearing on a television commercial in 1961.
Tippi Hedren is a Minnesota-born actress who starred in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds and Marnie, and later produced and acted in Roar, a film about big cats. She is also a humanitarian and animal rights activist who has received numerous honors and awards.
