Mar 1, 1999 · Tom Gibson has been a member of the Navy Band in Washington, DC since 1993. He earned a Bachelor of Music Degree at the University of Michigan and then a Master of Music from the University of Northern Colorado.
Dr. Tom Gibson has earned a reputation internationally as a performer, conductor, teacher and clinician. Formerly a trombone soloist with The United States Navy Band in Washington, DC, he moved to Atlanta in 2000 to be the Brass Department Coordinator at Georgia State University.
Jim’s current role is Professor of Jazz Studies (trombone and composition/arranging) at the University of Illinois School of Music. Tom Gibson. Dr. Tom Gibson moved to Atlanta in 2000, after having served for 6 years in the United States Navy Band in Washington, DC.
