Thomas William Hamilton (born December 31, 1951) is an American musician and songwriter who serves as the bassist for the hard rock band Aerosmith. Hamilton has regularly co-written songs for Aerosmith, including two of the band's biggest successes: " Sweet Emotion " (1975) and " Janie's Got a Gun " (1989).

Tom Hamilton is a musical renaissance man who has played in various bands and genres, including JRAD, American Babies, Electron and Grateful Dead. He shares his experiences with Live for Live Music, from his roles in Joe Russo's Almost Dead and Phil Lesh's birthday celebration, to his own projects and collaborations.
While there, he met many great musicians such as Phil Woods, Dave Liebman, Bob Dorough, Bill Goodwin, Nelson Hill and George Young. His association with these musicians is evidenced by his discography. In 1991 Tom was discovered by the great Blues guitarist from Scranton Pa.- Clarence Spady.
