Carole Bradshaw was the wife of LTJG Nick "Goose" Bradshaw. Carole and Nick had a son, Bradley who was two years old at the time of his father's death.
Top Gun
During the time Goose is at TOPGUN, Carole and their son Bradley visit him. Goose kisses his son and wife before walking out of the airport with Maverick. Later on, Carole is with Goose, Maverick and Charlie at a bar. When just with Charlie, she told the latter it was obvious that Maverick had fallen deeply in love with Charlie. They then followed Maverick and Goose to the piano and joined in singing Great Balls of Fire" by Jerry Lee Lewis. After Goose's death a grieving Carol is seen with Bradley, she then tells a grief-stricken Maverick how much he loved flying with him before becoming overwhelmed with emotion and leaving the room.

During a private moment between CAPT Pete "Maverick" Mitchell and Penny Benjamin, the pair discuss the rough relationship Maverick has with LT Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw. Maverick admits that before she died, Carole made him promise that he would do what he could to prevent Rooster from becoming a fighter pilot, as Carole didn't want Rooster to have the same fate as his father. This led to Maverick pulling Rooster's admission papers to the Naval Academy, causing a deeper rift to form between the two. Maverick says that he won't tell Rooster the truth about this, as there is no point in causing Rooster to also resent his deceased mother.
