    • Fall Run Falls. Fall Run Falls in Allegheny County has the distinction of being the largest waterfall near downtown Pittsburgh! Located a mere 7 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, Fall Run Falls is a beautiful 18 foot tall waterfall tucked away in a nature park that is surrounded on all sides by housing developments.
    • Alpha Falls. Alpha Falls is a 35-foot tall, somewhat temperamental waterfall located at McConnells Mill State Park in Lawrence County. While it takes a HARD rain to get this one flowing well in the summer, it does present with some spectacular ice formations in the winter.
    • Grindstone Falls. Don’t look for Grindstone Falls on the “official” McConnell’s Mill State Park map, because it isn’t on there. But rest assured this 8-footer does exist in the southeastern portion of the park, a 10-minute hike from the parking area along Mountville Road.
    • Hell’s Hollow Falls. Hell’s Hollow Falls is actually an easy waterfall to get to, despite the name. It’s found at the end of a simple 10-minute hike along a fairly flat trail at McConnell’s Mill State Park in Lawrence County.
    • Fort Ligonier. Fort Ligonier in Westmoreland County is a historically accurate reproduction of a British fort originally constructed in 1758 during what would become known as the French and Indian War.
    • Idlewild Park. Idlewild Park is Pennsylvania’s longest-operating amusement park! Idlewild Park as been named “Best Childrens’ Park” by Amusement Today, and “Best Park for Families” by the National Amusement Park Historical Association.
    • Historic Hanna’s Town. Historic Hanna’s Town, established in 1773, was the first county seat of Westmoreland County, and hosted the first English courts west of the Allegheny Mountains!
    • Mill Creek Falls. Mill Creek Falls is a picturesque, cascading waterfall on an idyllic mountain stream in Westmoreland County. Located on State Game Lands 42, Mill Creek Falls is an easy 1/2 mile walk along 2 forest roads to reach the falls.
