Mar 28, 2020 · The Ulm Minster’s claim to fame lies in its soaring spire, which, at 161.53 meters, is the tallest church spire in the world. With its foundations laid in 1377, this architectural marvel reached completion in 1890 after undergoing various construction phases.
Finally, in 1890, work on the main steeple was finished. 613 years after building began, the Ulm Minster was completed! Right up to the present day, the Minster has been and still is a living church. More than 1,000 church services and other events are held each year.
Once described as ‘the most prestigious timber framed building in York’, St William’s College dates back to 1465 and is one of the oldest structures in the city. Its Grade 1-listed status places it amongst the top 2.5% of the most important listed buildings in the country. It is currently closed for essential repair and conservation work.
It is the second largest church in Germany and has the highest steeple in the world. But not only the dimensions are imposing, the interior of the Gothic church also offers unique treasures ...
