  7. We follow the 9-1 Edexcel Mathematics GCSE specification. There are two tiers of entry: Higher at which grades 3 to 9 are awarded (this has 19 units) and Foundation at which grades 1 to 5 are awarded (which has 20 units). There is no coursework, the students sit 3 exam papers (one non-calculator and two calculator) in the summer of Year 11.

All students joining us in Year 7 in September have been given their own copy of the book: 'The Unforgotten Coat', by Frank Cottrell-Boyce, and this formed the basis of our literacy sessions during summer school.
