Jun 12, 2021 · Troy Smith led the Buckeyes to an undefeated regular season and a national title game in 2006, when he won the Heisman Trophy. He was the only Ohio State player to do so since Eddie George in 1995, and his pro career was short-lived.
Troy Smith was the seventh Heisman winner for Ohio State University in 2006, leading the Buckeyes to an undefeated regular season and a Fiesta Bowl win. He was a quarterback who threw for 2,507 yards and 30 touchdowns, and ran for 611 yards and 11 touchdowns in the regular season. He also played for the Ravens, 49ers, Steelers and CFL after college.
