About Chad Carpenter. The cartoonist, seen here, with one of his adoring fans. Chad was born at an early age. Abandoned by his parents on his 20th birthday, he was forced to wander aimlessly in his neighbors backyard. It was there that he was adopted by a pack of friendly ground squirrels and taught the ways of small rodents.
Tundra is a comic strip written and drawn by Wasilla, Alaska, cartoonist Chad Carpenter. The comic usually deals with wildlife , nature and outdoor life. Tundra began in December 1991 in the Anchorage Daily News and is currently self-syndicated to over 600 newspapers. [1]
Feb 9, 2011 · Fast forward an eventful, educational and sometimes frustrating five years later, Tundra is now in well over 400 newspapers in almost every state and all across Canada. These include the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Seattle Times, the Winnipeg Free Press, the Denver Post, Newsday, and numerous other ‘large’ papers.
