Phem is an alternative/indie music artist, who dropped her first EP, VACUMHEAD, in 2019. After releasing more singles and EPs, she came out with her first album in 2021. Phem has collaborated with many artists including Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker, G-Eazy, andLil Tracy.
“Both my parents are musicians, so I was lucky enough to be born into a household where music was constantly around,” Phem said in an interview with Notionin October 2020. “I started out on the piano, then drums, and eventually got into writing,” she added.
Phem was an opener for the European leg of Avril Lavigne‘s Love Sux tour. Phem and the band Girlfriends played at several shows for Avril in April 2023 and May 2023. “Excited to have @girlfriendsxo and @phem4evr join me on tour!” Avril wrote on Twitter in March 2023. Phem has also gone on tour with Lil Xan and Grandson.
Tyler and Phem fell in love in 2020 after music producer John Feldmann had them write songs together. Phem told PEOPLE that she wasn’t looking for a relationship when she met Tyler. “The thing I like the best is that we were friends first,” she said. Tyler came out as queer and sexually fluid in 2021. He said his decision to do so was inspired by Phem, who is also queer. “She’s helped me realize that I fit under the queer umbrella and that I’m sexually fluid,” Tyler said in an interview with NMEin July 2021.
