Prior to the UCLA Taser Incident, several grassroots campaigns between 2002-2006 were undertaken by UCLA students to educate the student body in regard to Duren's history of excessive force. The campaigns were initiated by distinct parties in response to Duren's aggressive behavior for pedestrian citations.
Cause of Incident. I found it a bit odd that the cause of the Taser Incident was the a student was shocked by a taser. That seems circular/redundant. Shouldn't the cause be that he refused to show identification and was allegedly defiant of the police? StatsJunkie 18:51, 4 July 2017 (UTC) Update tag

The University of Florida Taser incident was an incident in which a University of Florida student was stunned with a taser at a forum featuring then U.S. Senator John Kerry. On October 14, 2007, Robert Dziekański —a Polish immigrant to Canada—was killed during an arrest at the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond, British Columbia.
The incident has revived debate concerning police use of Tasers. This was the 16th death following the police use of Tasers in Canada since 2003 and civil liberties groups have called for a moratorium on Tasers until training and procedures can be developed and implemented to minimize the risks.

I was asked to comment on the inclusion of the taser incident in this article. UCLA Taser incident has a long, fully developed article. It survived on AfD in 2006 and I doubt it would be deleted in another AfD. Since it is here to stay, it is logical to have a short mention of the incident in this article.
