  4. The X-Men board a small hovercraft they left hidden at the bottom of the Central Park reservoir. Cyclops is in a hurry to get Jean to Professor X, realizing that something is very wrong with her. Meanwhile, Jean feels herself succumbing to the dark forces that Mastermind has unleashed within her.

  5. When Wolverine crashes into the room, intent on freeing his friends, Wyngarde orders Jean to stop him. She complies, but secretly also uses her powers to free Cyclops – she has shaken off Wyngarde’s control. Cyclops acts quickly and decisively, freeing the other X-Men.
